The fine print,
answered.
Certification, glazing, sizes, lead times, coastal, colours, shipping — the questions architects, builders and owners ask most.
Are your steel frames certified?
All our frames are Steel Fabricator Certified (SFC) by Steel Construction New Zealand. We consistently produce compliant fabricated steel of the required standard.
Do you do double glazing?
Yes — in our W40 and W50 TB suites, which can accommodate a minimum 22mm IGU. The W20 suite is single-glazed only.
Where are your windows and doors made?
Designed and engineered in Switzerland. Assembled in New Zealand. Every unit is built to one tested standard, finished and quality-checked before it ships.
What size doors and windows can you make?
External units are restricted by wind zone. The majority of our units are under 2.7m × 1.2m per sash; we can accommodate larger — please contact us. Internal units have far fewer restrictions.
What styles do you make?
Browse the Styles library — single hinged, French (dual hinged), curve/arched, pivot, sliding doors, plus fixed, casement and awning windows, and composed openings with sidelights and transoms. Each style is a fixed design (pane layout, lockbox, kick plate); you then choose your suite, colour, hardware and glass. We tend to stay away from bifolds — sliding is more reliable.
How does the price compare to aluminium?
Significantly more. Each joint is welded, sanded and finished by hand, and the profiles are rarely available off-the-shelf and costly to make. Steel is far stronger than aluminium and won’t deform under heat or load.
Can I have steel joinery in coastal areas?
Yes. Every unit goes through a four-stage corrosion-protection process. In harsh coastal exposure expect to clean and inspect quarterly — same as your cladding and roofing.
Lead times?
Typically 10–18 weeks from approved drawings. Plan early — steel rewards the architect or builder who specs it at the start of a project rather than the end. We confirm the current band when you enquire.
Custom colours?
Full RAL availability. If you have a specific colour in mind we can source it.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes — currently to Australia, the UK, Canada and the USA.
